Cliff Chen, Partner
Cliff Chen has spent 20 years in various engineering, operations and management roles in various manufacturing industries. Prior to joining Crimson, Mr. Chen held several senior executive positions at Lite-On (a $5 billion revenue electronics industry contract manufacturer), including Vice President of Strategic Planning, where he was in charge of strategic investments and the IT Department that set up and operated the global supply chain management systems for clients such as Compaq, Dell and IBM. He was also Vice President of the Monitor and Notebook PC Division. Prior to Lite-On, Mr. Chen was Executive Vice President at Chaplet Systems, a notebook PC company in Taiwan. Prior to Chaplet Systems, Mr. Chen was Director of Marketing, Sales and Purchasing at Compal Electronics, one of Dell Computer's major manufacturing partners. He also worked with Intel and Phoenix Technology to create the first 80386 notebook PC in the world (the "VIP 8000" project). Mr. Chen was also a successful entrepreneur who co-founded and ran H.I.S., a motherboard and add-on card design and assembly company with operations in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. Mr. Chen received an M.B.A. from National Cheng-Chi University in Taiwan and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University.
